Sky Lake Events is a beautiful, private lakeside wedding venue in Grand Junction, Colorado, designed for celebrations of up to 200 guests.

Set beside our peaceful 20-acre lake, Sky Lake gives couples a one-of-a-kind setting to celebrate their wedding day surrounded by water, open skies, mountain views, and unforgettable sunsets.

Exchange your vows overlooking the lake beneath the ceremony arch, then celebrate with family and friends on the lawn, inside the pavilion, or with a combination of indoor and outdoor spaces.

Our property offers plenty of room to make your wedding feel like your own. Enjoy the lakefront setting, pavilion, spacious lawn, swimming pool, comfortable gathering areas, and seating around our gas fire feature.

At Sky Lake, we want your wedding to reflect you. Couples are welcome to bring their own style, colors, decorations, and personal touches to create a celebration that feels completely their own.

Our wedding packages include tables and chairs, and our team will help with the setup and arrangement of your reception space based on your preferred layout.

    Ceremony Spaces

  • You can see details about the packages in our pricing link. We include tables and chairs for up to 200 guests at no charge! We have a mix of round and banquet tables!

    We set up and clear the tables and chairs; the bridal party or event organizer is responsible for setting up and clearing their decorations.

  • We have several package options that include linens, yes!

  • Yes. you can use your own catering company. You can also bring your own alcohol as long as you use a licensed bartending.

    We do not allow glass bottles under any circumstance.

  • We have last dance and drinks at 9:30, clean up and lights off at 10 PM sharp.

  • Yes. We have 2 nice restrooms included at no extra charge.

Our Story

We’re Cory and Carrie Messick, the owners of Sky Lake Events in Grand Junction, Colorado.

When we purchased the property in early 2018, we immediately saw how much potential it had — and just how much work it would take to bring that potential to life.

Cory, a lifelong mechanic, soon built a diesel shop on the property for his growing business, Grand Valley Performance. At the same time, we began transforming the land around us. We cleaned up the pastures, created space for a small farm, cleared the shoreline to open up the beautiful lake views, and brought new life back to the property so our family could enjoy it together.

Over time, we added a pool and cabana for warm summer days, a hot tub for cooler evenings, and a dock where we could sit back and take in the incredible sunsets across the lake.

After decades of working as a mechanic, Cory was ready for a new chapter. We realized that the place we had worked so hard to create was something special — and something we wanted to share with others.

That’s when the idea for Sky Lake Events began.

We set out to create a beautiful and welcoming wedding and event venue where couples, families, and friends could come together and celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.

Since then, we’ve continued adding and improving every part of the property, including indoor event spaces, gathering areas, guest spaces, the pavilion, and many of the little details that make Sky Lake feel unique. Much of it has been a true family effort — with Cory working long days alongside friends and family, and Carrie making sure everyone was well fed, caffeinated, and moving forward.

Today, we’re incredibly proud of what Sky Lake has become.

Whether you’re exchanging vows beside the lake, strolling along the water, relaxing on the lawn, enjoying the sunset from the dock, or simply spending time with the people you love, we hope Sky Lake feels like a place where you can slow down, celebrate, and create memories that will stay with you long after the day is over.
